Join us to hear award winning journalists and former foreign correspondents Charlotte Glennie and Mike McRoberts in conversation discussing their memoirs. 

This event is sponsored by HarperCollins and Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand, and supported by Hamilton City Libraries. Books will be available for sale and signing.

Charlotte Glennie is an accomplished journalist with more than two decades of broadcast and media experience, half of that spent working in Asia. She has worked with media organisations including the BBC, ABC and TVNZ, and her career highlights include receiving New Zealand's Supreme Award for Excellence in Television Journalism - recognising coverage of news in Asia, including the Indian Ocean tsunami; the New Zealand Government Special Service Medal for reporting in the aftermath of the Asian tsunami; and the Clarion Award for Radio Documentary of the Year - an ABC investigation into the impact of the war in Afghanistan on Australian soldiers and their families. Charlotte lives in Sydney with her partner and two children. This is her first book.

Mike McRoberts (Ngāti Kahungunu ki te Wairoa) is one of New Zealand's most respected journalists and broadcasters, with an award-winning career spanning four decades. After anchoring Newshub's 6pm bulletin for 20 years and reporting from conflict zones and natural disasters worldwide, Mike embarked on a deeply personal journey into Te Reo Māori and Te Ao Māori which was captured in his acclaimed documentary, Kia Ora, Good Evening. Mike is now Te Ao Māori Editor at the National Business Review (NBR).
